Course Description
This course deals with the integration of pharmacy practice and public health in the prevention of disease, promotion of health, and prolongation of life. It primarily focuses on factors affecting health, indicators of general health in the community, past and current issues pertinent to public health, laws and policies. It aims to deepen understanding of public health and the health system, including the role of pharmacy, policy, interventions, and programs in achieving better health outcomes. It will also provide a basic understanding of causation, measures of disease occurrence and causal effect, types of epidemiology studies, and use of pharmacoepidemiology in pharmacovigilance.
