Speech and language pathology professionals are focused on the development of human communication. Communication encompasses language comprehension and speech flow and complexity. Specifically, concerns in the speech rate, continuity, and smoothness is the focus of this course. The Fluency course examines the nature, theories, development and symptomatology of stuttering and similar fluency disorders in children and adults. It focuses on the assessment and differential diagnosis, interpretation of findings, treatment implications that are appropriate for clients with fluency issues, in both local and global communities. It helps the students understand and perform actual management of patients or simulated clinical management activities. This course will help future SLP practitioners to be a nurturer of health and provide opportunities to improve client’s quality of life.
