This course deals with the study of chemical processes in living organisms. It starts with a review of topics such as the attributes of life, parts and functions of the cell and the basic chemicals of life. It explains the complexity of life by providing knowledge on the structure and molecules that include lipids, carbohydrates, proteins, nucleic acids, and other intercellular and extracellular components. It will also provide knowledge and various metabolic human disorders as results of the failure of the cells to synthesize normal enzymes disrupting the normal course of the pathways during the production.
